Gridiron Gang

I went yesterday to see Gridiron Gang, which is "The Rock"'s latest movie. This movie was superb. It's instantly a "dvd getter" in my book. The Rock and Xzibit BOTH did wonderful jobs of acting. Despite some of the vulgar language I would recommend any kid over 13 viewing this movie. I never realized how significant after school programs are to children (even though this wasn't an after school program in this movie.) It's amazing how giving a kid one thing to care about could save their life and the lives of others around them.
Well after another awesome day at church, it's time to grub.

God Never Ceases to Amaze Me

My boss has four wonderful children. They are probably some of the brightest most well behaved kids I have ever met. Well yesterday we were talking at work and he was telling me that one of his kids, his youngest son, did something to make him cry. So that's completely out of his son's character, because he's a great kid. So I ask him to elaborate about the situation and his goes on to say. Well recently I've been working more and more so I haven't gotten the opportunity to go to church during the week with my family like we normally do. So because my son is worried about me not going to church during the week he's asked me to start reading the bible to him before he goes to bed. This is something they started at the beginning of this week. So he tells me yesterday they were just finished reading and his son started asking questions about certain things he didn't understand like he always does and he said it was the last question that got to him. "Well daddy how do I ask God to come into my heart? I always ask him to forgive me of my sins but I've never really asked him to come into my heart and to be my all." And knowing that his son is only 6 years old and said that almost made me cry myself. It's such a wonderful thing to see that in a child so young. I wish more people would tell their children about God and how he sent his son Jesus to die for our sins. It's not that difficult to believe, even a child can understand it.

Friday morning drive

So Friday was a good day. I woke up extra early so I could go to Wal-Mart and get John Mayer's new cd at J-Dy's recommendation and as usual J-Dy's advice is usually right on. Now D would absolutely hate this cd, but J-Dy knows I appreciate it because he knows me too well. Yeah so even at 6:10 in the am, there was still a long line at Wal-Mart, luckily for me I paid for my cd in the Jewelry counter (only 9.72). From there it was a short walk to the car ripping open the cd case so I could pop the disc in my changer. Of course I'd already heard the first song, but whenever I get a new cd I listen to it in it's entirety unless it just absolutely terrible. I actually listened to this cd all the way through and lyrically it's amazing. John tackles politics, love, religion (arguably) and the battles we face with life (literally). And the thing I love about John is he doesn't just talk about an event, he takes you there with his words and with his music. I'd have to say my favorite song on the cd is "Stop this train" and J-Dy actually called that it would be, however if I had not heard "Gravity" off the John Mayer Trio cd, it would definitely be my favorite. Another song that I loved, especially lyrically, was "Belief." The words are so true. To me this is the music people need to hear verses "Booty booty booty booty rocking everywhere..." So Friday morning was probably the only time I was happy that I had a hour drive to work, because I listened to the whole cd and was just happy and in awe when I got to work.
Friday night after work, I ate seafood, got a call from someone I've been dying to hear from (glad she had an awesome birthday), treated myself to ColdStone, and met up with the guys to play some Halo 2. Friday was awesome.

Another Weekend in Winston-Salem

So I've been going to Winston-Salem almost every weekend to learn more about .NET programming and I've learned a lot in this short amount of time. So yesterday after our training session, we decided it was time to have some fun. We ended up going to Olive Garden (yes I love the O.G.) and then going to play pool. It was a great time. I did pretty well in pool and probably would have done a lot better if the table wasn't so slanted. I saw the 8 ball go in off the break 2 times in a row last night, but I think that's do to the table being on a slant. Last night was the first time in a LONG time that I've stayed up till almost 4 in the morning. I don't know what we will end up doing today, but I know it's going to involve a bunch of fun. Time to feed the stomach

Yeah so yesterday I had a job interview for a Web Admin job for this organization. It went really well and lasted about 15 minutes before they asked me if I could meet with the next person in the interview process. So if my interview next Thursday goes well, I'll have one more interview and then I get the verdict. I'll be so happy not to drive an hour to work anymore, but I'm not getting too hopeful.
I got to speak to Alex today. That was a really awesome surprise. It's been almost a month since I talked to her on the phone and that's a really long time considering we used to talk everyday. I am glad that she is doing well. Welp, that's it, it's time for food.

"Crank" was Crunk

I decided to celebrate Labor Day with a day at the movies. My movie of choice was "Crank." The new movie with Jason Statham and Amy Smart. This movie was the anti chick flick. It was action packed, from start to finish. I couldn't believe the stunts in this movie. Everything was crazy insane. I'd have to nomiate this for Guy Movie of the Year. Well it's time to play some Ms. Pacman.

God Doesn't Make Mistakes

I went to see the movie "Idlewild" tonight. It's the new movie staring the music group OutKast. It's a musical that definitely deserves it's rated R rating. It has foul language, sexual content, violence, and alcohol use. It can hardly be considered a "Christian" movie, but it did a wonderful job of showing that "God doesn't make mistakes." God has given everyone a part or a role that they must perform. So remember the next time things don't seem to work out just the way you wanted them to, "God doesn't make mistakes" and everything will be ok.
